The Kelowna Community Chorus is fortunate to have very talented and accomplished artists
and musicians instructing and inspiring us, and keeping our voices finely tuned.
Susan Skinner began her vocal training at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music and finished her Masters of Vocal Performance program.
She sang as a professional opera singer throughout Germany, the USA and Canada, earning critical acclaim for her vocal skills.
During her Master studies, she studied Choral Conducting from Rodney Eichenberger and has kept up her conducting training with summer programs with Mr. Eichenberger and others.
In addition to taking her Unity Choir to Carnegie Hall, NYC, she is currently a Voice Teacher at Wentworth Music and Musical Director of Kelowna Community Chorus.
Susan loves working with singers of all ages, helping them explore the exciting world of choral music while having a lot of fun in the process.
Ursula Pidgeon received her Bachelor of Music degree from Queen’s University, majoring in piano performance and oboe.
As a scholarship recipient at the Banff Centre, she studied Piano Literature and Pedagogy with Dr. Robin Wood.
Ursula and her family moved from Ottawa to West Kelowna in 2010. She thoroughly enjoys participating in the rich musical life here in the Okanagan!
Ursula teaches students of all ages and all levels. Her contagious enthusiasm encourages students to do their best, whether preparing for music festivals, exams, or just playing for their own personal growth.
Ursula is accompanist for Kelowna Community Chorus, Okanagan Festival Singers, and KCMS Youth Choir. She also keeps busy accompanying students for exams and Kiwanis Festival.
